Mr. Meek was U.S Representative for Florida’s 17th District from 2003 until 2011 and was the Democratic nominee for in the 2010 election for U.S. Senate. Prior to serving in Congress, Mr. Meek served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1995 to 1998 and the Florida Senate from 1998 to 2002. Prior to his political career, Meek was a Captain in the Florida Highway Patrol.
