Our inmate voicemail solution offers your facility several benefits, including:

A convenient means of communication. The solution operates similar to the standard voicemail systems we are all familiar with. However, this voicemail system has been created exclusively for the inmate environment that demands greater security and a pay-per-message structure. Inmates or their friends & family are charged for each message they leave. All voicemails are recorded.

An easy way of broadcasting messages. The system can also be used to send facility-wide or inmate-specific messages. Voicemails from staff are free of charge.

A way to eliminate kites. The system records and automatically routes an inmate’s voice-recorded requests to the appropriate department personnel, creating a documented and audit trail of all communications between facility personnel and inmates. The entire system can be accessed through the secure Web-based portal.

A simple PREA solution. Using the inmate phone, an inmate can leave a secured voicemail reporting a PREA incident. All PREA calls are recorded. The Telmate system immediately sends an email and/or text message to the officer in charge of PREA. When the officer listens to the voicemail, the system automatically timestamps, dates and stores the officer’s name with the recording. The officer can then enter notes directly into the Telmate application and list all steps the officer followed to address the issue. Alternatively, an inmate can call the officer responsible for PREA and Telmate will record the entire conversation further providing for a chain of evidence.
